Classes are scheduled to be offered by the Office of Housing and Community Development to teach first-time home buyers the pros and cons of the purchasing process to help them with a seamless transition into the world of property ownership.
The classes, which are offered on a frequent basis, will cover pertinent topics such as personal finances, first time buyer grants, credit management and credit scoring, down payment assistance, how to apply and qualify for a mortgage loan, choosing the right home in the best location, why you should trust a professional for a home inspection and what each item is on closing statement.

The classes will be held Tuesday, Sept.15 and Thursday, Sept. 17 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center Community Room, 4600 Opportunity Way.
